Making life more affordable has been our government’s primary goal. With inflation being a concern for families here in Canada, as it is around the world, our Fall Economic Statement includes new, targeted cost of living support measures to make life more affordable for those most affected by rising prices.
These important measures include:
Eliminating Interest on Student Loans; Lowering Credit Card Transaction Fees for Small Businesses; Doubling the GST Tax Credit for Six Months; A $500 Top-Up to the Canada Housing Benefit; The Canada Dental Benefit for low-income kids under 12; and A new, quarterly Canada Workers Benefit.Our government will continue to be there for the Canadians who need it most with support that has been carefully designed to avoid making inflation worse.
